The local community of Termales is often a great source of inspiration for me, especially around their resourcefulness and pride in decorating their homes and businesses.
Now with a good deal of oyster shells on my hands and with my own stringent sense of “waste not want not” I decided to get crafty and make myself a oyster shell chandelier!
If you would like to try this at home this is how you can do it.
- First carefully cut around the top of a large plastic bottle leaving the bottleneck and a little overhang.
- Next puncture holes into the shells (or you can use other treasures such as feathers, sand dollars etc)
- Tie fishing line to the shell and around the plastic ring of the bottle neck so they hang and varying lengthens and you can add embellishments and your own style to your crafty creation to make it your own!
